GURDWARA SRI GURU TEGBAHADUR SAHIB is situated in village Makhan windi, Distt Amritsar SRI GURU TEGBAHADUR SAHIB JI while going to Baba Bakala from Village Valla came here and camped outside village. When ladies from this village came to know about GURU SAHIB's visit. They came here and served with milk and butter (Makhan). GURU SAHIB got pleased with their service. When GURU SAHIB asked about village name, They told GURU SAHIB that theres no real name for this village. Then GURU SAHIB blessed that from now onwards this village will be known as Makhan windi.
